Independence Day Greetings in Odia Independence Day or Swadhinata dibas is celebrated on 15th August in India. It is a National holiday in India. On this day in 1947, India gained freedom from British rule. Since then, each year 15th of August is celebrated as Independence Day in India. Schools and Colleges celebrate the day with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm, with students and teachers organizing cultural programs and performances to make the day memorable. Independence day is celebrated in Odisha in every school, college as well as govt office, and public place. Students gathered on this day for flag hoisting in the early morning. They do parades and slogans to remember the glory of the nation. Some cultural festivals are also organized on the day. Students and teachers give speech on swadhinata dibas.
